A new sound rings from Kentucky: a fuzzed-out, spaced-out, finger-picking noise.

Neo-psychedelic mastermind Craig Morris (Thee American Revolution / Ideal Free Distribution) presents an innovative fusion of garage rock and Appalachian folk with his band Terrapin Pond, incorporating friends, family and regional Bluegrass musicians (including members of the Kentucky family band The McKendrees) in a swirling folk-psych landscape.

Described by Morris as “modern rural psychedelic music,” Terrapin Pond’s debut album Hello All Stations plays like an unheard mountain songbook discovered by latter-day indie rockers. Fuzz guitar, banjo, mandolin and Mellotron ebb and surge, buoyed by lush harmonies and a heavy rhythm section: full of the classic hooks we might anticipate from Morris and company, but this time growing in a darker, mossier forest.
